Fans of US Military sidearms will already be familiar with this one, but this is a slightly obscure model for the average shooter. Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) aka MEUSOC Force Recon elements used the M45 MEUSOC pistol for many years. It took the standard M1911A1 and added features from the competition and tactical worlds. The extended beavertail, three-hole trigger shoe, and Pachmayr Grips are classic features of this gun.
Military Arms Corporation, a sub-brand within the SDS Imports family, is recreating an affordable clone version of this pistol. It has a QPQ (aka nitride) finish and two magazines. The MSRP is $774.95. If it performs like the other SDS-imported Turkish 1911s it should be a great value.
